Trashy-Craft Revisited

August 27, 2008 at 7:50 pm (Addlepatedness, Doings, Hannah's Little Blog)

Welcome to all dear souls interested in the refined and distinctive art of trash picking. It is not to be confused with dumpster-diving, pack-ratting, squirreling away, or junk collecting. No, no, this is frugal culture at it’s finest. My current project: transforming three empty wine bottles into corrals for my ever-on-the-lam knitting needles. With some TLC, paint, and a custom sweater, maybe I can turn them into something cute and functional. If not, I can just return them. Here’s what I’ve done so far.

Fireproof

August 21, 2008 at 1:40 pm (Hannah's Little Blog, Reviews)

It looks like the Kendrick brothers have for us another winner! I loved Flywheel (big news from a gal who is none too crazy about the used car business) and Facing the Giants was…. well, not my favorite, but still good. Check out the Fireproof trailer at fireproofthemovie.com

The Tunnel of Doom

August 19, 2008 at 6:55 am (Doings, Hannah's Little Blog)

Well, I guess school isn’t that bad. Here I am at the end of summer, wondering “where did it go?” Maybe a quick overview is in order.

In June, we went to CA.

In July, the Mallerys threw a great party, and we went camping.

In August, the Takahashis came to visit, and shameful as it is, this is basically the only picture I got.

So, this has been a pretty good summer overall. I think I’ll be ready to kiss the motorhomes goodbye, brush up my vocal chords, and find a cozy ball of yarn to keep me company in the coming fall. Oh, and I’ll start school again.

Meet Arnold

August 6, 2008 at 12:28 pm (Hannah's Little Blog, Nature, Pictures)

Folks, say hello to my new friend, Arnold. Anna Takahashi named him, since we met at her vacation rental. As much as I loved him, I think he needed some counselling on his over-use of Dippity-Do. He was a bit shy around the camera, so the pictures are kind of crumby.

He was pretty fast, so the focus was an issue.

Every time I poked him, he curled up in a little ball and looked so cute!

I loved looking at the funny hair that grew on his head and tail. Quite fascinating.

Poor Arnold got tired of me poking him, so he crawled off my hand and fell between the boards on the porch. Wherever you are Arnold, I love you!
