Kaffee!

June 24, 2008 at 9:29 pm (Addlepatedness, Hannah's Little Blog)

Ich liebe mein kaffee! I love my coffee, but after my dental ordeal, I wasn’t able to drink it for a few days. Talk about going loopy. This morning, I was finally able to drink some, after it had cooled off awhile. I am so happy, I could write an ode. Maybe the loopiness isn’t related to caffeine deficiency, just gray matter deficiency.

Love!!

June 19, 2008 at 9:35 am (Addlepatedness, Hannah's Little Blog)

For the past two years, I have been infatuated, enamored, and otherwise emotionally attached to a sewing machine. I always talk about her, (forgive the personal pronouns, I speak of my piano in the same fashion) but I have never shown pictures of this beautiful fixture in my life. I purchased her at Levengood’s for the pittance of $55, but I wouldn’t trade her for any computerized, button-laden, fancy new model. On the outside, she looks like a carousel pony, but the inside is a workhorse. Every piece (except screws, foot, bobbin case, & plate) is cast iron. That of course inhibits taking her to many places, but- what a joy to oil! I always marvel about how simply  they used to make these….and I am now addicted to Singer love. Now I need to get a treadle. (this one is electric) You know, the kind that comes in a cabinet with little drawers…. but for now I am happy with this one.

My Sweet Friend

June 18, 2008 at 9:34 am (Addlepatedness, Hannah's Little Blog)

There is something about my BFF, Megan Comstock, that I simply must write about. Ok, a little background is appropriate here: We both enjoy finding goodies for each other on occasions like birthdays, Christmas, etc. I am not very good at this. I look and look and everything I find ends up seeming dumb; unless I hit on something spectacular, then I feel like a saint. On the other hand, Megan is the perfect person for something that is not only cute, but something that completely fits my sentiment flavor of the day. Allow me to illustrate:

Now is she good, or what? I would’ve probably bought a candle. Moral: Don’t shop with Hannah, shop with Megan.

Roller Skates!

May 31, 2008 at 9:05 am (Addlepatedness, Hannah's Little Blog)

Yesterday I think I discovered a new and intriguing passion. I bought myself a pair of {very} old roller skates, cleared out the garage, and {kind of} blared the speakers. I can probably count all my excursions to the rink on one hand- ok, maybe two. Anyway, I haven’t skated for years, and there are no rinks that I know of, ever since Shady Lane closed. Not to say that Shady Lane was all that fantastic. Needless to say, I am a rather sorry sight on my skates. But as long as there is nobody watching, I can enjoy myself quite a bit. Plus, the skates make me much taller (like, 5′3″) WOW!! That’s tall! 5′3″ is practically TOWERING!! Ok, I know it really isn’t, but when you’re 5′ 1/4″, it feels pretty big.

The Story of My Life

May 26, 2008 at 10:35 am (Addlepatedness, Hannah's Little Blog)

Since the trolls seem somewhat popular, I thought I would include an illustration of what it’s like when I work on stuff like that. Sculpting is not a bowl of cherries. I probably smush better than 80% of my work. Makes a funny cartoon, though. Have a nice day.
