Sunday Afternoon Drama Installment 1 of ?
When we came home from church yesterday, we found there was blood in our yard, and Roxy (our dog) was on the porch cringing and looking very uncomfortable. I can’t blame her, as we soon out that she had a bullet (courtesy of neighbors) lodged somewhere in her chest. Ouch.

We didn’t know if she would make it through the night, but this morning she got up, wagged her tail, ate, and generally acted out of character for a dog who was visited by the Reaper. We’re still not sure if she’ll make it, but today we are going to try and see about keeping the bullet-hole from getting infected. Our other dog (Tiny) is still missing, so I’ll keep posting as we find out more.

I’m so glad she is doing better today. I hope you find Tiny soon!

Update:
Mrs. Adams (our neighbor) came and said that Tiny was accidentially shot, and that they will bury her with their backhoe. The vet said that Roxy is going to be OK, but will have a bullet in her for the rest of her life. So ends the saga.

It’s so sad about Tiny. :( I’ll miss that big smelly lump. She was so sweet.

Yeah, it’s sort of the end of an era for me. I’m just not sure what era.

How did your dogs get “accidentally” shot? It’s not like it’s hunting season or anything!

Well, Roxy had a deer and was attempting to maul it, and Tiny came along for the show. Mr. Adams meant to shoot Roxy, but one of his shots got Tiny. So, I guess you could say that Tiny “gave her life for her friend.” Or something like that.
